I went on this trip to Tanzania with my family in 2012 which was right after I graduated from high school. The first half of the trip was spent going on safaris through three national parks which were Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. The amount of elephants that we saw in Tarangire was amazing and it was so beautiful but my favourite national park would have to be the Ngorongoro Crater. I've never seen anything quite like it and once you start descending into it, it's so magical. Almost makes you feel like you're driving on to the Lion King set! We saw pretty much every animal you'd expect to see when you go on a safari in Africa in the crater. At one point, we even saw seven lions together that were trying to get under the jeeps for shade. I feel like I was so mind-blown by the crater that going into Serengeti national park after, I was a bit disappointed. We had quite an unlucky day and didn't see any lions, even around Pride Rock! We did manage to spot a few leopards resting in trees though which was exciting cause it was the first time on the trip that we had seen any.

The second half of the trip was spent in Zanzibar. Such a gorgeous Island where we could just relax for a few days. I loved how I could wear my harem pants there and not look out of place. One of the days we decided to go into the city where we saw Freddie Mercury's house! The whole trip was just so spectacular and being able to take pictures of the wildlife in the national parks was such an incredible experience that I will never forget. x

It's almost been a year since I went on this trip to Jordan but I decided that I wanted to do a post on it and some of my other past travels. Although it was only a week, my family and I managed to travel around the entire country. I actually couldn't believe how small it was! It's such a beautiful place with so much culture and the food there (sadly, I have no pictures) was just absolutely amazing. The trip started in Jerash which is the site of the ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Gerassa. Some of the pictures taken there show; The arch of Hadrian, The oval forum and other parts of the ancient city.

After spending a night in Amman, we decided to make a stop at Mount Nebo on the way to the Six Senses Spa. Being that it is Moses' place of burial according to Christian tradition, I highly recommend visiting it whilst in Jordan. The next two days at the Six Senses Spa and the Kempinski were so relaxing and exactly what we needed before our final stops. Swimming in the hot springs at the spa was so therapeutic but the getting into the Dead Sea at the Kempinski was even better. After you apply the Dead Sea mud on yourself and then wash it in the water, your skin just feels so incredible.

After the wonderful time by the Dead Sea, we stopped at Wadi Rum which is also known as "The valley of the moon". Driving through the valley was a great experience but staying there the night was not. We went to Jordan during the winter and the temperatures at night in Wadi Rum were almost freezing. Staying in tents with no heating was quite uncomfortable.

The final stop of the trip was at Petra for two days. Petra is a world wonder and a UNESCO heritage site. The entire city was absolutely stunning and the view from the highest point was indescribable. The only disappointment was that we only managed to see a small percentage of the city in the two days being that it's so big. From Petra to the airport we spent a couple of hours in Amman once again, going around the city and buying souvenirs. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and it influences some of you to visit the country as it really is a such a beautiful place. x
